Quality

Where: Operations → Quality → Inspections.

The Quality Desk works with inspection lots. A lot is a quantity offered for inspection. It is judged, and if it fails, a non-conformance report records what was wrong and what was decided.

The Quality Desk

Tiles: Awaiting Judgement, Failed, Open Reports, Passed. Filter the registry by stage and status.

The four kinds of inspection

IncomingA goods receiptRecords the judgement on received goods
In-processA work orderA check during production
FinalA work orderWhile this lot is unjudged or failed, the work order cannot produce finished stock
PackageA box on a packing slipBlocks the packing slip from closing until judged (see Picking, packing and dispatch)

Non-conformance reports

On a failed lot click Raise Report.

Raising a non-conformance report

Enter the Quantity affected, What is wrong (required) and Remarks. The report is numbered NCR/0001.

Then click Decide on the report and choose the disposition: Rework, Scrap, Use as is or Return to vendor, with notes.

Deciding a non-conformance

For Return to vendor, raise the debit note separately.

Waive an inspection

Waive releases a lot despite the inspection. A Reason is required, and you can name who waived it.

Waiving an inspection

A waived lot is kept as WAIVED, never as a pass, so the record shows that the goods went out on a deviation.

A failed lot, waived, with its report

A lot that is still pending can be withdrawn with Withdraw inspection.

Quality checks during production

Readings taken by operators at an operation are a separate feature: they come from the BOM's QA Plan and are entered on the work order. See Running a work order.
